National home care provider Help at Home announced its second acquisition  of the year Tuesday. Chicago-based Help at Home said the purchase of Atlanta-based Prosper Home Care will give it a stronger presence in Georgia.

“Adding Prosper Home Care to the Help at Home family allows us to bring like-minded organizations together to address the growing need from seniors and must-serve populations to age-in-place as safely and as independently as possible in their homes,”  Help at Home’s State Leader in Georgia Hermina Yarde said in a statement. “Like Help at Home, Prosper Home Care has a culture of caring that’s deeply rooted in its community. We’re excited to bring our added experience and expertise in home care, along with other innovative care programs, to the Atlanta area to continue to improve the client and caregiver experience while working closely with community partners.”

Help at Home provided personal care services to 10 locations across Georgia prior to its new entry into the Atlanta market. Last August, it acquired Prosper Home Care’s Augusta location.

Prosper is a 20-year-old firm that serves clients eligible for services through Georgia’s Elderly and Disabled Waiver, which allows Medicaid-eligible seniors to receive home- and community-based services versus nursing home care. Help at Home will also continue Prosper Home Care’s commitment to serving multicultural clients, including members of Atlanta’s Korean, Nepalese and Bhutanese communities

In January, Help at Home acquired Pennsylvania-based Open Systems, which provides home care services in 68 counties across Pennsylvania and two counties in neighboring Delaware. That deal also helped the company gain entree into Delaware.

Help at Home operates more than 180 branch locations across 12 states, providing in-home personal care and other home-based services to more than 65,000 clients.
