Humana is now more than halfway through its rebranding of Kindred at Home, with the conversion of its home health division to CenterWell in 14 more states.

Humana began rebranding Kindred in March, converting Kindred at Home agencies to CenterWell in seven states. It will complete the final phase of the initiative in September when the home health division will operate under CenterWell in 38 states overall.

“Our patients can rest assured that CenterWell Home Health will maintain care continuity throughout the brand transition,” Susan Benoit, president of CenterWell Home Health, said in a statement. “In fact, both patients and providers should notice little change in their experience, with the same care provided by their same trusted caregivers.”

Humana announced the Centerwell brand in March of 2021 as a way to connect the company’s payer-agnostic healthcare offerings, which also include primary care. The company announced it would rebrand Kindred at Home as Centerwell shortly after it acquired the remaining 60% share in that company early last year

When Humana completed the $8.1 billion acquisition of the Kindred at Home, CEO Bruce Broussard said the home health division would enhance the company’s Medicare Advantage plans by bringing more care into beneficiaries’ homes and reducing overall healthcare costs.

In April, the company said it was selling its 60% share in Kindred at Home’s hospice and personal care divisions.
