Two Indiana caregiving agencies announced on Thursday the expansion of their pilot, which focuses on the integration of care teams using the Vela secure collaboration app.

Seniorlink’s Caregiver Homes of Indiana, a provider of resources for family caregivers, and  CICOA Aging & In-Home Solutions, a nonprofit serving seniors and their caregivers, began their  six-month pilot in July, giving CICOA care managers access to Vela for 52 enrolled families. CICOA now plans to enroll all of its care managers in Vela to improve collaboration across the 600-plus families served in collaboration with Seniorlink’s Caregiver Homes.

The program helps improve access to families and gain better insights into their care settings and transitions; reduce administrative burden; and allow care managers to more easily provide support in completing regulatory requirements while easing coordination of care services.
