Lifesprk, an innovator in whole-person senior services, is jumping into the senior living sector through a partnership with Tealwood Senior Living. The companies forged the alliance because the pandemic has created new opportunities in senior living and senior services.
“Both Lifesprk and Tealwood are well-positioned to seize the opportunity by joining forces to serve seniors more fully, connecting them to everything they need in one system to age magnificently and transform the way people experience living right now,” Lifesprk CEO Joel Theisen said in a statement Tuesday.
St. Louis Park, MN-based Lifesprk offers a range of services to seniors, including home healthcare, hospice and hospital-at-home. Minneapolis, MN-based Tealwood Senior Living operates 35 senior living and skilled nursing facilities in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Tealwood President Howie Groff said his company’s holistic approach to senior living options, along with its foundation in technology and community-based services, made Lifesprk an ideal choice for a partnership.
“Together with Lifesprk, we are able to tap into this powerful platform and improve the senior living experience,” he said.
Bill Thomas, M.D., a renowned geriatrician and Lifesprk’s independence officer, is a key architect in designing the holistic model that will drive Lifesprk Senior Living.
“The high level of health and medical services needed during COVID will not disappear, but it won’t, nor should it, go back to the way it was. It needs to be interwoven into the fabric of their wellbeing,” Thomas said.
According to the National Investment Center for Seniors Housing & Care, and the Minnesota State Demographer, there has been a 6.8% drop in senior occupancy over the past 10 years.
