The latest Chartbook report revealed that Medicare and Medicare Advantage home health beneficiaries are older, sicker, poorer and more racially diverse. And in a change from years past, fewer of them are joint replacement recipients; more are complex, higher-acuity patients. Jennifer Schiller, executive director of the Research Institute for Home Care, which published the report, talks about the significance of these findings in a Newsmakers podcast with McKnight’s Home Care. The report also uncovered continued beneficiary access issues with MA plans, she explained.
