Cassie Mistretta is an impactful leader in Texas long-term care. Just ask her colleagues and peers.

“Cassie Mistretta is one of the best coaches, mentors and motivators” Senior Living Properties Corporate Operations Manager Michelle Ridgley said. “She has helped many professionals identify ways to improve, believe in their own ability to grow, and learn and develop.”

This leadership has translated into great success at both the corporate and statewide levels.

During her tenure as Senior Living Properties CEO, a position she has held since 2018, the company’s revenue has grown by more than 50%. Senior Living Properties has achieved a Great Place to Work certification from Fortune Magazine and also was named to the No. 3 spot on the magazine’s Best Workplaces for Aging Services list for large senior living and care companies in 2021.

Mistretta leads a team of more than 2,700 employees across 51 skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities in Texas and Oklahoma.

In her time there, she has dealt with Hurricane Laura, historic statewide ice storms and power outages, and the COVID-19 pandemic. Throughout, she has never stopped delivering quality care to residents.

“She has demonstrated crisis management and transformational leadership by mitigating risk, supporting resident care, taking care of her employees while concurrently growing the company,” Ridgley said.

Mistretta also is a very active advocate for quality long-term care in the Texas Legislature. She has provided compelling legislative testimony on issues such as COVID-19 support and safe working conditions.

Additionally, Mistretta serves Texans and others as a board member for the Direct Supply Executive Operators Forum. In the past, she has served as a board member for the American Health Care Association Regional Multi-Facility Council and the Genesis Employee Foundation. She is a former member of the executive board of directors for the Texas Health Care Association.

Despite all her responsibilities and accomplishments, Mistretta still dedicates most of her time to ensuring that residents, patients and staff members are happy and healthy.

“Cassie Mistretta’s ongoing initiative to better the senior living industry is only shadowed by her desire to provide quality care for our residents and to inspire and grow her employees,” Ridgley said.
