Gale Boice started her career as a CNA in a skilled nursing facility in Jacksonville, FL. Boice’s mother is a proud CNA who taught her the importance of caring for and serving older adults. It did not take long for the leaders there to recognize her combination of financial acumen and dedication to caring for the elderly, and she quickly was promoted to payroll clerk, accounts receivable assistant and business office manager. She became a regional business office manager for a group of 12 SNFs in 2000. In 2013, Boice relocated to Toledo, OH, to be the divisional director of operations support for 55 SNFs. During most of her professional career, Boice’s husband was an active-duty Navy Seabee who often was deployed to dangerous parts of the world, sometimes for months at a time.

She joined Principle LTC as chief financial officer in 2018 and leads the financial services of the company, which has more than 5,000 employees and 45 facilities. At Principle, Boice created Principle Billing Services, revamping all of the organization’s financial systems, including accounts payable, payroll, purchasing, budgeting and profit and loss while reinvigorating the company’s commitment to auditing, business office compliance and care of the corporate office employees. She played a key role in helping raise more than $100,000 worth of donations, 100% of which are used to help employees in need.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Boice and her team have worked hard to ensure personal protective equipment acquisition and delivery, have partnered with a microbrewery to make and distribute hand sanitizer and have worked tirelessly to keep the home office staff safe.

Boice always has said that the long-term care industry is her home, having served the industry from her junior high school days. She recognizes that good financial responsibility is a huge piece of the long-term care puzzle and while moving up the corporate ladder never lost her passion for caregiving. As a CFO, colleagues say, she values care and services while leading financial success.
