“Franchising is strong and resilient, is full of innovation and opportunity, and provides a powerful entrepreneurial path for many people,” Entrepreneur Editor-in-Chief Jason Feifer said in a statement. “Our 45th annual ranking is full of companies with fresh ideas, exciting business models, cultural sway, and the kind of business sophistication that will define the next 45 years and beyond.”

The highest-ranked home care companies were Interim HealthCare, at 59, followed by Home Instead at 149 and Senior Helpers at 172. This was Interim’s fourth consecutive year on the list and a 45-spot jump from its 2021 placement of 101. Jennifer Sheets, president and chief executive officer of Interim, which provides nonmedical and skilled home care, attributes it to the growth of the home care industry at large.

“The value of home-based care has only grown stronger over the past year, as demonstrated by our incredible rise on this ranking,” Sheets said in a statement. “Interim HealthCare’s unique combination of business value and personal reward makes owning a franchise an ideal opportunity for those looking to do well by doing good, and I extend my congratulations to all of our franchise owners whose dedication has helped make this achievement possible.”

Being included on the list is a major accomplishment that organizations can leverage to build momentum, according to HomeWell Franchising Chief Executive Officer Crystal Franz. HomeWell Franchising, which provides nonmedical care, was ranked 283 in the 2024 rankings, a 64-spot jump from its 2023 placement of 347.

“This achievement underscores the strength of HomeWell’s franchise system and our commitment to empowering our owners — both new and experienced — with comprehensive support and resources,” Franz said in a statement. “It’s an affirmation that our strategic efforts are paying off, and we’ll continue to help our franchise agencies thrive in their local markets while embracing innovation to help shape the future of the home care industry.”
