Three home care firms have been named to Fortune Magazine’s 2022 “Best Workplaces for Millennials”:  ComForCare, which earned this recognition for the second consecutive year; Senior Helpers, located in Baltimore, MD; and 24 Hour Home Care, of El Segundo, CA.

“We are incredibly honored to once again be named as a best workplace for millennials,” J.J. Sorrenti, CEO of ComForCare’s parent company, Best Life Brands, said. “Our franchisees and caregivers are the lifeblood of our business, and it’s important to us that they truly enjoy the crucial work they do and have every tool they need to succeed.”

This list of 100 companies highlights companies and workplaces that are best suited for millennials — those born between 1981 and 1997. Making the list is not a small accomplishment — particularly for home care. Being able to appeal to millennial workers increasingly appears to be invaluable for the field, given the severe workforce shortage. Among the traits that define this generation are a desire to make a difference at work, the propensity to job-hop, and the high priority placed on teamwork and social interaction at work.

A total of 92% of employees at ComForCare say it is a great workplace, according to Great Place To Work, a long-standing research partner of Fortune, which published the list. Last year, the company landed at number 94 on the magazine’s list. This year, it inched up 20 spots to be named the 74th best workplace for millennials in 2022.

The other two home care firms named to the list, Senior Helpers and 24 Hour Home Care Aging Services, were ranked 51 and 71, respectively.

ComForCare has also been recognized by Fortune in the past. In 2021, the company was named on the “Best Workplaces for Women,” “Best Workplaces in Aging Services,” and “Best Workplaces in New York” lists. It provides in-home services via 215 independently owned and operated locations in the US and Canada. The firm was founded in 1996, and since 2017, it has been a part of Best Life Brands. The company offers services including personal home care, Alzheimer’s and dementia care, and private-duty nursing.

Sorrenti hopes ComForCare will continue to be named to these lists.

“Earning a place on this prestigious list for the second year in a row validates the hard work ComForCare does to ensure the success of our franchisees,” he said. “I cannot wait to see how we will continue to grow throughout the next year.”
